Longtime readers of Joe the Circle may have noticed certain changes in activity at this site, such as for example there not having been any new content for over six years. We are working on this problem with all due diligence, specifically in the form of occasionally glancing at back issues and muttering,”I really should get back to Joe the Circle,” eliciting snorts of disbelieving laughter from our friends.

In the meantime, by which we mean this afternoon, we have accomplished a few important tasks:

• Updated the database to SQL5.x, thus solving the “site doesn’t even work a tiny bit” problem.
• Updated WordPress to the latest version, or at least away from version 2.malware which we were previously using.
• Restored the site to apparent functionality despite #1 and #2.
• Removed the Message Boards, since it is apparently no longer 2006.
• Tweaked the sidebar with some new links. Apparently some loyal soul with excessive free time took the time to make a Joe the Circle entry at TVTropes.com. We know not your motivations, mysterious historian, but we salute you.
• Glanced at a back issue and muttered “I really should get back to Joe the Circle”.

We have high ambitions for creating new issues by the end of this summer. We are obliterating our old mailing list, or more accurately we promise to obliterate it if we ever find where it is.
